Additional information:

The harbour is built halfway the 15th century. For transport to the hinterland the harbour is provided with a boat lift (1924) instead of locks. The harbour has a light on the west pier head at least since 1850. That light location still exists today.
Nowadays the site has modern red and green harbour-lights and a third on the bridge situated more inland.

The former fishing fleet of Bovenkaspel can be recognized by BC registration.
